Invitation to Bid - Driveway Repair

The Aroostook County Action Program cordially invites bids for a driveway repair job at our 17 Bowles Road location in Caribou, Maine. Sealed bids must be received by 3:00pm prevailing local time, Monday, February 14, 2022 at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. The bid opening will be held via Zoom and an e-mail link will be provided to all bidders in advance of the bid opening.

The work generally consists of the following, which is not an all-inclusive list: 1) To cut, remove and properly dispose of all existing hot top approximately 140 feet wide by 150 feet of the existing parking area and the entrance area of 90 feet x 50 feet. 2) The renovated areas are to be dug down 12 inches to receive 9 inches of new MDOT type D gravel and then 3 inches of crushed pavement over the type D gravel. 3) Pave with 1.75 inches of new SP 12.5MM base. 4) Followed by 1.25 inches of new SP 9.5MM surface – max. 5) Ditch portion of the existing lawn for water runoff, loam soil and seed.


The Contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of all pertinent general public laws of the State of Maine in effect at the time of the execution of the Contract. Bids must be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid. The selected Contractor will be required to furnish a 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bonds and Lien Waivers to cover the execution of the work, which shall be in conformity with the Bonds and Lien Waivers contained in the Specifications and for the Contract Amount. The Owner reserves the right to waive any and all technical and legal deficiencies, to reject any and all Bids, or to accept any Bid that the Owner may deem to be in their best interest.
