Community members are invited to gather at Friendship Cottage for a summer open house and barbecue on Saturday, June 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at 118 Ellsworth Road in Blue Hill. The event offers an opportunity to tour the beloved cottage, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about the ongoing effort to preserve adult day services in Hancock County.
The open house comes as Friendship Cottage moves toward a planned early June closing on the purchase of the property, following strong community support and fundraising momentum to secure its permanent home. Brief remarks will highlight the essential role the program plays for aging adults and caregivers, recent progress toward completing the purchase, and ongoing opportunities for community support.
“We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community,” said Jason Parent, CEO of Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties. “Friendship Cottage exists because people believe in caring for one another, and this open house is a chance to celebrate that generosity. We encourage everyone to join us and see firsthand how community support is helping ensure these vital services continue for years to come.”
All are welcome to attend. While RSVP is not required, community members who plan to attend are encouraged to call (207) 610-5003 or email anne.ossanna@acap-me.org to better assist in event and refreshment planning.
